Class 7A teams to represent Arkansas during Zero Week

The Arkansas Activities Association will institute a “zero week” this year due to Proposal One of the 2016 governing body meeting passing by a 161-3 margin. This allows schools to schedule football games a week earlier, and provides the opportunity to play three non-conference games over a four-week time period. It also allows any teams that play during zero week to schedule benefit (scrimmage) games up a week as well.

Yesterday we featured the teams that will play in-state competition during Zero Week, but today we are going to take a look at the in-state teams who will play out of state teams during Zero Week.

8-24: Bentonville-West at Owasso, Oklahoma

8-24: Fayetteville at Saint John Vianney, Missouri

8-25: Bentonville vs Midwest City, Oklahoma

8-25: North Little Rock vs Tulsa-Washington, Oklahoma

There aren’t as many in-state teams playing out of state competition in Zero Week as there are regular in-state games, but it is games like that which help our teams bring awareness to the brand of football being played in the Natural State.

Of course our in-state teams have to win the games on the field, but we will have four of the top overall teams in the state representing Arkansas high school football, to include defending Class 7A state champion North Little Rock and Class 7A runner up Bentonville.
