Owner of the Arkansas Sticks showcase baseball program Chase Brewster was hired as the interim head baseball coach for the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles in November.

Brewster's strong ties to the Texarkana community helped with landing the job, to include having graduated from Texarkana College and being recognized as a Distinguished Alumni of TAMUT.

Brewster brings a wealth of experience to the Eagles, including his role as the owner and President of Sticks Baseball, a highly regarded travel baseball program based in Texarkana, AR. Under his leadership, the Sticks program has seen significant success, with over 600 players advancing to college baseball, 56 MLB draft picks, and five players making it to the MLB, including notable names like Masyn Winn, Logan O'Hoppe, and Jaden Hill.

In addition to his role with the Eagles, Brewster is involved with the Chicago White Sox Scout Team and is part of the White Sox Area Code coaching staff. He also serves as the Head Coach for the Rockford Rivets in the Northwoods League. Beyond coaching, Brewster has scouting experience as an Associate Scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers alongside Josh Herzenberg.

This marks Brewster's second tenure at George Dobson Field, the Eagles' home ground.

His coaching career began in 2009 at Texarkana College, where he worked under mentor and current University of Nebraska Head Coach Will Bolt. During his time there, the team won the conference championship in 2009, and he contributed as a student assistant in 2007 and 2008, with another conference win in 2008.

With all of the experience Brewster has he is looking to do big things as head coach of the Eagles.

He spoke with ArkansasVarsity.com about some of his goals.

“Anytime you have an older group that has finished runner up for a championship, the idea that anything other than getting back to that moment and conquering it is the goal is foolish to think,” said Brewster. “Our goals since I took over three weeks ago have been to raise the standard across the board in our program.”

Brewster said that his players should understand that it isn’t just about playing for the Eagles. There is a higher purpose at play.

“It’s not enough to just graduate. We want our players to graduate in four years with honors,” said Brewster. “It’s not enough to just make the conference tournament, we expect to be there until the last day. We have a great University, and an unbelievable community, that we owe it to set the standard as high as we can make it. It won’t be easy, as our league is phenomenal, but nothing worth obtaining should be easy for us.”

Brewster also explained what “The Standard” means for Eagles Baseball.

“Our basketball coach Darion Brown uses the hashtag, #TheStandard,” said Brewster. “He always says that the standard is the standard. We want to build our own identity outside of basketball, but he’s right. The standard of our university needs be known throughout to our student athletes”

Brewster said that he loves having the opportunity to lead the Eagles baseball program.

“There are so many things to love about this job. I have the two greatest bosses I could ask for in AD Ryan Wall and Dr. Ross Alexander,” said Brewster. “Working for good people who want to help things grow and be successful is so important.”

“We have such great athletic leadership in our offices with Coach Brown, Hitchcock, McKnight, and all the other coaches who have been mentors the last couple weeks,” Brewster added. “We have a village of resources for players and coaches to grow and raise “The Standard” at TAMUT”The Eagles will begin their 2025 season on Jan. 24 at home against Evangel (Mo.) College. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
