About: Today we are continuing our weekly prep football coverage by previewing some of the top games in North East Arkansas for Week Two of the 2010 Football Season.

The Pioneers rolled over
Newport last week by the score of 41-14. On offense, they will use
the play of QB Storm Tipton RB Cody
Vaughn, ATH Michael Showalter, WR's Michael Shellenberger and Frank Ramirez, as well as a host
of others. Defensively, keep your eyes on Darius Johnson, Chance Rogers,
Tipton, Showalter, Evan Fry, Dillon James and Keaton
Thacker. Key Stat: The Pioneers gave up 17 points per game last year.

Searcy is a team on the move in
Class 6A since the addition of Coach Tim Harper. The Lions
steamrolled North Pulaski last week 56-0. Offensively, QB Desmond
Stegall, RB's Jacob Mowrer and Hayden Mercer, WR's B.J. Slaughter and Bear Davidson are some to
keep your eyes on. Defensively, the Lions are led by stout
linebackers Mike Brown and Charles Birmingham. Slaughter, Andrew Moore, and Steven Seitz are
playmakers in the secondary. Key Stat: The Lions won the same amount of games last year under
new coach Tim Harper, than they did in the previous four years combined.

#9 (Class 3A) Bald Knob vs #10 (Class 4A) Newport

The Bulldogs graduated a lot of
talent off of last year's 13-1 team, but they showed they still have
some talent after beating Pochahontas last week 48-17. Cordell Crisp
lines up at QB this year, while Steven Merrill moved to RB from his
WR position last year. Trey Gavine, Jordan
Johnson, Terrell Woods, Cody Whitmire, and Joey Miller all line
up at WR. Zach Shoebottom, Caleb McBride, Cody Davis and
others lock down the lines, while DiAndre Woods, Tyler Wallace,
Miller, Woods, and Trey Gavin lock down at linebackers and in the secondary. Key Stat: The Bulldogs set the state
records for interceptions last year, picking off 37 passes over the length of the season.

The Greyhounds fell to
Class 5A Batesville last week by the score of 41-14, and hope to
pick up a win against a salty Bald Knob team this Friday night.
QB Michael Reynolds will lead the team, but ATH and Ole Miss
commitment Artez Brown is the man to watch. Quadarius
Ross, Frank Brown, and Jacoby Williams are to
be watched in the backfield, while Robbie Balentine, Dallas Luce, and
Grant Black are the WR's. Ross, Brown, Devante Neal, Denzel Taylor, and Kordre Taylor are
players to watch on defense. Key Stat: The Greyhounds move into a new
conference this year, and hope to earn their first conference title since 2007.
