The Junction City Dragons have named the successor to Coach David Carpenter, who announced his retirement in November. Searcy offensive coordinator Steven Jones has been hired as the Dragon’s head coach, and is looking to continue the winning ways that the Dragons are accustomed to.

Jones is a graduate from Junction City, and was a member of the 2003 football state championship team, and the 2004 baseball state championship team.

He coached football and baseball at DeWitt before being named offensive coordinator at Searcy, where he remained until being hired at Junction City on Tuesday.
