Shiloh Christian coach, player earn national honor

The Springdale (Ark.) Shiloh Christian football program has been one of the most successful programs in Arkansas over the past decade, including back-to-back state championships and a season-ending No. 43 ranking in the RivalsHigh Top 100 football poll.
Now, players and coaches are beginning to receive national attention and accolades.

Not only has the staff found out that the team will take part in the Kirk Herbstreit Classic in Dallas, Texas, this year, but head coach Josh Floyd was recently invited to be a coach in the 2011 Under Armour All-Star football game.
"It is really a big honor to not only have a player invited to play in the Under Armour game, but to also received a personal invitation to coach in the game," Floyd said. "It is pretty exciting, and will be a great honor to represent Arkansas on a national stage."
Not only will Floyd, Kiehl Frazier, and the Saints represent Arkansas on a national stage in the Under Armour game, they will also represent Arkansas at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas on Labor Day weekend in the Kirk Herbstreit Classic. The Saints will take on national powerhouse Euless (Texas) Trinity, which finished last year ranked No. 15.
"We certainly drew a tough opponent," Floyd said. "But we are really looking forward to competing on the national level against one of the toughest teams in the nation. … We are really excited about playing in Dallas, and in Cowboys Stadium. I know it will be a tremendous honor for our kids to be able to play there, and against a national opponent."
Floyd said that Frazier decided this week to accept the invitation to play in the Under Armour All-Star Game. That's when Floyd was asked to be a part of the coaching staff.
"They asked me if I wanted to be part of it as a coach, and I accepted," Floyd said.
The Shiloh Christian Saints will spend the summer taking part in several 7-on-7 events, as well as one they host on July 9-10.
Shiloh kicks off the 2010 football season in the Hootens Arkansas Football Classic at Arkansas-Pine Bluff against Pine Bluff (Ark.) Watson Chapel.
