New AAA Resident and Transfer rules to take effect July 1
The Arkansas Activities Association has outlined some new rules which will take effect on July 1, 2008.
Some of the rules taking effect are as follows:

New residence and transfer rules modifications for athletic eligibility will become effective July 1, 2008.
1. Nonpublic schools having 80 or more students in grades 10 through 12 shall be moved up one class when classifying schools.
2. All transfers must take place before July 1 prior to a student's entering grades 7 through 10 for athletic eligibility purposes, provided CSAP forms are signed for students whose parents reside in the state of Arkansas.
3. Students transferring after June 30 prior to their 10th grade year shall not be eligible for one calendar year (365 days) unless there is a bona fide move from one public school district into the public school district that the student will be attending.
4. After June 30 prior to a student's 10th grade year, parents in districts having multiple high schools must make a bona fide move into the attendance zone of the school that the student will attend for the student to become eligible.
5. After June 30 prior to a student's 10th grade year, a student whose parents live outside a 25-mile radius of a nonpublic school must make a bona fide move within a 25-mile radius of the school that the student will attend to become eligible.
