Morgan named 2012 ArkansasVarsity.com Mr. Football

Each year, ArkansasVarsity.com names one player from the Natural state as the ArkansasVarsity.com Mr. Football Award recipient. That athlete is always a young man who not only plays well on the field, but also demonstrates a tremendous amount of character both on and off of the field.
This year's award winner is a young man who single handedly took over multiple games, and was a force that made a difference for his team. He was nearly unstoppable against some of the highest classification teams in the state.
That young man, and the new ArkansasVarsity.com Mr. Football for 2012 is Greenwood athlete Drew Morgan.
Morgan's stats speak volumes in regards to what kind of player this young man is.
Offensively, he carried the football 82 times for 764 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also had 82 receptions for 1122 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Defensively, he had 73 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and 2.5 sacks.
He also had one punt return for 67 yards and a touchdown. He averages 31 yards on kickoffs, and returned one for a touchdown.
Morgan was phenomenal throughout his entire high school career. His performance on the field, at camps, combines, and in the classroom earned him multiple scholarship offers.
He is committed to play collegiate football at the University of Arkansas, and is a three-star prospect on the Rivals.com network.
Morgan will receive a trophy and certificate recognizing him as the 2012 ArkansasVarsity.com Mr. Football Award winner.
