BEARDEN - The Junction City Dragons relied on a solid passing game and a salty defense to defeat the Bearden Bears 13-8 Friday night.
Running back Jaqwis Dancy ran the ball 35 times for 227 yards to help propel the Dragons to the win.
Tight end Jamario Bell caught both of the Dragons touchdown passes with the first coming at the 2:29 mark in the second quarter on a nine-yard reception over the middle. His second score of the night was with 1:49 remaining in the game on a three-yard reception.
Bearden's long score came with 5:24 remaining in the third quarter as Jamond Young found pay dirt from one-yard out. Young would score a two-point conversion to give the Bears their only lead of the night as they led the Dragons 8-7.
