Interest picking up for Arkansas prospects
There have been several athletes from across the Natural State which has really increased their recruiting stock over the summer. Some of these young men do not have very many offers, while some have seen more come their way in recent weeks.

The young man who is receiving the most interest as of late is Greenbrier quarterback Neal Burcham. The 6-3, 175-pounder has handled his business on the camp circuit, and most recently was named co-mvp of the Elite 11 in Malibu, California.
Rivals.com national analyst Adam Gorney had the following to say about Burcham: "One offer? That could definitely change soon. Burcham needs to gain muscle and size but his arm was outstanding and he made all the right reads. The Arkansas prospect made very few mistakes and was really impressive throughout the week. If someone didn't know him, they might think he was a multi-offer guy with schools from BCS conferences recruiting him."
Burcham has already seen his stock improve as one school in particular, Arkansas State, is showing heavy interest since his performance at the Elite 11.
Another young man who has seen his stock rise is Rison linebacker Quanterio Heath.
The 6-3, 210-pounder has done very well on the camp and combine circuit, and his offer list has improved from FCS level Arkansas-Pine Bluff, to the addition of offers from Arkansas State, ULM, and Tulsa.
Heath had a very solid camp last weekend at the University of Arkansas, and the Razorbacks have expressed legitimate interest in him since the camp.
Heath was told that the Razorback staff will continue to evaluate him as he enters his senior season. Kansas, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss are showing heavy interest as well according to Heath's head coach Clay Totty.
"I've never had an athlete receive the kind of attention Quanterio is getting," said Totty. "I coached Kevin Williams (Fordyce-Minnesota Vikings), Shermar Bracey (Rison-Former CFL player), and Tyrell Johnson (Rison-Minnesota Vikings), and none of those guys picked up this kind of interest. I think Vanderbilt, Kansas, and Ole Miss are all really close to offering him."
The Bearden Bears football program has become one which has continued to produce solid athletes over the years, and the Class of 2012 is no different.
Super star athlete Defonta Lowe has flown under the radar, well, that was until he showed up at the University of Arkansas' elite camp and completely stole the show.
The 6-3, 185-pounder holds an offer from Arkansas State, but when you see him in action, you question why more offers are not on the table. Former Bearden coach Mike Cox had great things to say about Lowe.
"Defonta is one of those players who can get the job done on both sides of the football," said Cox. "Why more schools are not recruiting him hard blows my mind. This is a kid who should have multiple offers by now."
One final young man who has flown a bit under the radar is Smackover defensive end Jeff Savage. The 6-4, 270-pounder has held several D-1 offers and a FCS offer for months, and he recently landed his first FBS offer from ULM.
He has shown promise at several camps and combines, and several schools are evaluating him. Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech are two schools to keep your eyes on, as they could be very close to pulling the trigger.
