In his first year as head football coach of the Arkansas State Red Wolves, Coach Hugh Freeze has hit the recruiting trail hard and heavy in a way no other coach has done before.
His hard work is already paying off, as he and his staff has collected six verbal commitments since February.
As it stands, the current commitment list is loaded with running backs.

Running backs who have committed to the Red Wolves include Senatobia, MS. Running back Quintavius Burdette (5-10, 179, 4.5), Sulpher Springs, TX running back Kendrick Daniels (5-7, 150, 4.4), and most recently West Helena running back Dekeathan Williams (6-2, 200, 4.5) who gave his pledge today.
The Red Wolves have also picked up commitments from offensive lineman Micah Simmons (6-4, 265) from Lindale, TX., linebacker Antonio Justice (6-1, 212, 4.6), and quarterback Jalen Whitlow (6-3, 200, 4.5) from Prattville, AL.
Freeze and his staff have hosted several players this week. One young man who visited is Elite 11 Co-MVP Neal Burcham.
Burcham visited the campus Monday after picking up an offer from the Red Wolves this past weekend.
"I thought the campus was great," said Burcham. "It was better than I expected to be honest. I had heard so many things about the campus which turned out to be false. I'm looking forward to getting back up there and experiencing a game day up there."
Christian Brothers (Memphis, TN) defensive end Chase Robison is expected to visit the campus today.
He is 6-4, 220 pounds, and runs a 4.6 forty-yard-dash. He holds an offer from the Red Wolves, Louisiana-Lafayette, Middle Tennessee, and others.
Robison's father played for Arkansas State under former coach Larry Lacewell. This could bode well for the Red Wolves.
Needless to say, the Arkansas State coaching staff is already hard at work on the recruiting trail, and that hard work is already beginning to pay off. Once the season kicks off, and Freeze puts a few wins under his belt, then the commitments are certain to continue to roll in.
