They self-reported a potential violation at the end of their season. Now, one Arkansas high school will suffer the consequences.
The Arkansas Activities Association announced Wednesday that the Fordyce (Arkansas) High Redbug football team has been forced to forfeit all of their wins from the 2009 football season, due to the use of a coach who was not an employee of the school district.

The Redbugs compiled a 3-8 record in 2009, with wins over Pine Bluff (Ark.) Dollarway, Lake Village (Ark.) Lakeside, and Hamburg (Arkansas) High.
According to the Pine Bluff Commercial, a violation occurred when a coach employed by another district was assisting the Fordyce staff during games.
Fordyce Superintendent Don Collins said that neither head coach Clark Watkins, nor the school, were aware of any violations until the season was over. Upon the discovery of the violations, the school district self-reported the violations to the Arkansas Activities Association.
With the forfeits, Fordyce will officially be recorded with an 0-11 record for the 2009 season.
