2015 Shootout of the South preview
The 2015 Shootout of the South 7-on-7 will take place this Friday and Saturday at Mighty Blue Bird field, located at 6800 Pinnacle Valley Road in Little Rock.
There are 20 talented teams in this year's field from three different states. Teams from Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma will be on hand for this year's event which begins at 11:00 a.m. Friday for pool play. Bracket play will begin Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.

This year's teams include Afton, Ok., Bald Knob, Clinton, Conway Christian, England, Greenbrier, Heritage Hall, Ok. , Pulaski Academy Gold, Searcy, Stigler, Ok., Central Arkansas Christian, Little Rock Catholic, DeSoto Central, Miss., Heber Springs, Lake Hamilton, Little Rock Christian, Pulaski Academy Blue, Quitman, Vilonia, and Warren.
There will be a host of collegiate prospects on hand for this year's event. Prospects from each team include Bald Knob Class of 2017 wide receiver Deshawn Gulledge, Heritage Hall Class of 2016 running back Terrell Love and Class of 2017 defensive back Dawson Evans, Pulaski Academy Class of 2016 athlete Tre Bruce, Class of 2016 wide receiver Cannon Smith, Class of 2016 athlete Myles Fells, Class of 2016 athlete Zack Kelley, Class of 2017 running back Jaren Watkins, Class of 2017 defensive back Jacory McMillan, and Class of 2018 quarterback Layne Hatcher, Stigler, Oklahoma Class of 2016 linebacker Quontez Jim, Central Arkansas Christian Class of 2017 wide receiver Joshua Johnson, Little Rock Catholic Class of 2016 quarterback Andre Sale and Class of 2017 wide receiver Preston Wilson, DeSoto Central, Mississippi Class of 2016 running back Alan Lamar, Class of 2016 wide receiver Jesse Curry, Jr., Class of 2016 quarterback Cameron Bowman, and Class of 2016 defensive back Len Fairley, Heber Springs Class of 2017 wide receiver Pierce Mitchum, and Little Rock Christian Class of 2016 running back Damarea Crockett and Class of 2016 wide receiver Joe Hampton.
Pulaski Academy Gold has won the Shootout of the South for the past two years, and will certainly be a contender to win it all again this year. Little Rock Christian, DeSoto Central, Lake Hamilton, and Warren will be solid contenders as well.
