154 Points Scored In One Game

When Class 3A Fountain Lake(Ark) played Class 5A Hot Springs Lakeside (Ark) on Friday night, everyone who showed up go to see something amazing happen. Well, that is unless you were the defensive coordinator for both teams.
When all was said and done, a new State record for the most points scored in a game was set in this game, when Fountain Lake defeated HS Lakeside 88-66. That's right, there was 154 points scored in this game!

This breaks the previous record set in 1996 when East Poinsett County defeated Hughes in overtime by the score of 73-72.
Fountain Lake totaled 734 yards of offense on the night, with 700 of them being rushing yards. The Cobras only passed the ball 4 times during the night. Fountain Lake scored 29 points in the first quarter, 30 in the second, 8 in the third, and 21 in the fourth. HS Lakeside scored 27 points in the first, 15 in the second, 16 in the third and 8 in the fourth. The score at halftime was 59-42 Fountain Lake.
Quentin Lindsey and Andrew Davis combined for big nights for the Cobras. Lindsey ran the ball 22 times for 268 yards and 6 touchdowns, while Davis carried the ball 20 times for 235 yards and four touchdowns. HS Lakeside QB Mitchell Scott threw 5 TD passes on the night for the Rams.
One thing is for sure, if you like offensive production, this was a game that had plenty of it. A power run team versus a spread passing team, with the running team coming out on top.
