In rivalry games, both teams give 110%, and leave it all on the field. In a rivalry game, all that matters is going home with a win. The score does not matter, as long as you go home with a win. A rivalry game, with an unexpected outcome, is what we had tonight, when the Greenwood Bulldogs knocked off the #66 RivalsHigh.com Nationally ranked Shiloh Christian Saints by the score of 54-51. This game saw a total of 1195 yards of total offense and 105 combined points scored by the two high power spread offenses. The Bulldogs would strike first at 9:37 mark in the first quarter on a nine yard touchdown pass from Tyler Shook to Seth Parker. The Saints would strike right back at the 7:44 mark on a three yard pass from Kiehl Frazier to Chris Bryant. Greenwood would score once more, and Shiloh twice more in the quarter to bring us to a 21-14 Shiloh Christian lead at the end of one. The Saints would strike first in the second quarter on a 20 yard pass from Frazier to Jake Scott with 9:17 to play in the quarter, but the Bulldogs would answer right back with 7:37 to play in the half on a 16 yard pass from Shook to Stephen Hogan. The Dogs would add one more touchdown and the Saints a field goal before the half ended, to bring the score to 31-28 at the half. With 11:20 to play in the third quarter, Greenwood struck again, on a 77 yard pass from Shook to Spencer Harris. The Saints would again answer with 7:42 to play on a 13 yard run by Frazier. Harris would score two more times for the Bulldogs in the third, once from 21 yards out, and from 42 yards out. Frazier would hook up with Scott once more for a 20 yard touchdown pass, and for the first time in the game for either team, the PAT would not be made, as the Bulldogs were able to block the Saints attempt. This would make our score 48-44 at the end of three in favor of Greenwood. The fourth quarter is what this game came down to. Frazier would find Bryant one more time from five yards out with 1:14 to play, putting the Saints up 51-48, but Greenwood would strike right back with just 23 seconds left in the game when Shook would run it in from three yards out. The PAT was no good, giving the Bulldogs a 54-51 lead with just seconds to play. The Saints would get one more chance, but the Bulldog defense would hold.
