There is no question, however, where the top two prospects in the Bluegrass State in this year's class will play.
Lexington Henry Clay's Aaron Boyd tops the first rankings release. Boyd is a tall, athletic wide receiver with an impressive early offer list. Miami (Fla.), Tennessee, Virginia, Louisville and Kentucky are among the offers for the 6-foot-4, 195-pounder.
Notre Dame defensive tackle commit Brandon Newman of Louisville's Pleasure Ridge Park High checks in at No. 2. The 6-foot-1, 300-pounder is a true nose guard and has a knack for the big play (he had 22 tackles for loss last season). Newman committed to the Fighting Irish back in May.
Another Louisville prospect, DuPont Manuel's Dave Ulinski is a 6-foot-6, 300-pound tackle that checks in at No. 3. He is athletic and plays a lot of defensive line for his high school team. Kentucky, where his grandfather played, and most recently Louisville highlight his early offer sheet.
Bowling Green wide receiver prospect D.L. Moore is the fourth-ranked overall prospect in the state. Moore still has to learn a bit about the position, but he has excellent size (6-4, 180) and athleticism to develop into a good one. Purdue, Nebraska, South Carolina and Cincinnati all have offered.
Coming in at No. 5 is Louisville Male linebacker/defensive end prospect Dexter Heyman. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder has a knack for making big plays. Louisville, where his brother Earl plays, Indiana and Northwestern are among his early offers.
Lexington Catholic defensive back Winston Guy, Bowling Green tight end Ryan Wallace, Louisville Trinity offensive lineman/tight end prospect Sam Robey, Lexington Bryan Station athlete D.L. Wilhite and Frankfort athlete E.J. Fields round out the initial top 10.
