The 2012 Arkansas high school football season is now underway, and in this article you will find recaps of several marque games from around the Natural state.

North Little Rock 42 Lake Hamilton 7
North Little Rock's blowout victory over Lake Hamilton was led by Alabama commit Altee Tenpenny only played for one half, but ran for 76 yards and ttwo touchdowns in the first half. His first score came from nine yards out, while his second was from two yards out.

After Tenpenny set the pace, the Charging Wildcats jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead, and invoked the mercy rule with 7:33 to play in the third quarter.

Lake Hamilton got on the board late in the fourth quarter after a muffed punt by the Wildcats, as Omar Vega scored from three yards out.

Pine Bluff Dollarway 44 Helena-West Helena 14
It took the Cardinals just 2:03 to score as Xavier Long hit pay dirt from 23 yards out. Long would find the end zone again, this time from one yard out with 10:11 remaining in the second quarter.

The Cougars got on board with 6:16 to play in the first half on a five yard run by Cirly Brewer, but Dollarway's Jeremiah Young would score 26 seconds later on a 67 yard run of his own.

The Cardinals then wasted no time in setting the pace in their first game of the season, scoring 30 unanswered points to break the game wide open. They would take a 44-6 lead to invoke the mercy rule before the Cougars were able to score again.

Greenwood 47 Sallisaw, OK. 14
The Greenwood Bulldogs showed they are a quarterback producing school once again as Jabe Burgess completed 21 of 29 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown. The pass went to wide receiver Cole McAlister He also scored on a 16 yard run.

Running back Saul Palmer picked up 180 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while Arkansas State commit Drew Morgan scored on a 69 yard punt return.

The victory was the Bulldog's 25th straight.

Pine Bluff 53 FS Northside 27
Pine Bluff's Walter Ashley dominate in a game that saw nearly 500 yards of offense in the first half. By the end of the night, Ashley amassed 115 yards rushing, 154 yards receiving, and had 222 return yards for a total of 491 all-purpose yards on the night. He also scored four touchdowns for the Zebra's.

Pine Bluff quarterback Rickey Clements finished 9-of-10 passing for 251 with two touchdowns to help the Zebras earn the victory.
