BC Hoops Notebook

Raji Bouncing Back

Boston College received a scare on Tuesday night when Corey Raji appeared to come up lame when he was chasing a loose ball out of bounds. Raji was noticeably limping after the play and it left many thinking that Raji has re-aggravated his groin injury. Word from the Heights is that Raji practiced Wednesday and Thursday and is doing much better. In fact, it was not a re-aggravation of the groin injury that was causing him to limp Tuesday.

Tyler Roche Cold

Since the USC Upstate and Providence games BC hasn't got as much as they've needed from Roche. The junior has shot just 5-of-19 from the three point line in the last 11 games since. Overall on the season Roche is 7-for-28 from behind the arc aside from the December 14th game.

2010 Target Getting More Offers

Rod Odom is starting to get quite a stack of offers. Over the last few weeks Rutgers, West Virginia, and Xavier have added their names to the mix of schools that have offered the Middlesex forward. Those three schools joined the mix with Boston College, Holy Cross, Seton Hall, and William & Mary as schools who have offered Odom.

In addition, just last week Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt came and watched Odom personally in practice.

Odom is hoping to catch BC's game against Virginia Tech on Saturday night.

EagleAction will have an update with Odom's new thoughts on BC coming up in the next week.

NCAA Tournament Berth Not So Crazy

A few weeks back I took a look at BC's schedule and broke it into different categories of difficulty. The goal was to try and determine how the Eagles would have to fair in each department of difficulty to have a realistic shot at making the NCAA Tournament. At the time, with BC having lost a few games in the row it might have sounded a little unrealistic to think about March Madness. However, take a look now.

3/7 vs. Georgia Tech

Have won 1 of 1 in "Very Winnable" category

Winnable (Win 4 of 6)
1/10 vs. Miami
1/20 @ GT
1/27 @ Maryland
1/31 vs. VT
2/4 @ Virginia
3/4 @ NC State

2/8@ Wake Forest
2/10 vs. Clemson
2/15 vs. Duke
2/21 @ Miami

The task doesn't seem as difficult as it did before does it? There's no doubt the biggest challenge will be winning a game or two from the "difficult" section of games. All of those teams are very good, and all pose some challenging match-up problems for the Eagles.
