Blue Devils work on special teams
Sunday afternoon the Blue Devils took the field for a light, yet productive one hour and forty-five minute practice. Much of the day's effort was centered on improving all aspects of special teams play. Special teams coordinator Danny Pearman had his team working on everything from onside kicks to situational punting to kickoff coverage.
After the completion of practice, Roof spoke briefly about the team's progress in these areas.
"[Special teams work] was much needed," Roof said. "We did so much live stuff [Saturday] special teams-wise and came back out to re-teach it, evaluate where we were and correct the mistakes and go back and do it again while it's fresh in everybody's mind.
"It was a very productive day and that's certainly an area where we need to continue to work."
