The focus of Wednesday's practice was on red zone and third downs; two areas were FSU's offense struggled against BYU last weekend. After practice, Jimbo Fisher said he was pleased with the team's progress in these areas and the improvement since Tuesday's practice.



However, the focus after practice for the assembled media was on Christian Ponder's status.




The senior quarterback has been wearing a protective sleeve on his throwing arm that was "bruised" following a hit in the Oklahoma game. Fisher admitted on Monday that his quarterback's arm "tightened up" in the BYU game and had an adverse impact on his ability to throw in the second half. He also said he would give his offensive leader a bit of a break in practice to rest his arm.
